great video. I have a SanDisk that needs to have a battery replaced. It is different in that the usb is a micro usb and the display and controls are stuck to the board and not the other sides of the player, you can take it off easily. now to go and look for a battery if it is available. :)

Thank you for this video! I'm still a user of Sansa Clip+ and it's funny to see what massive prices are paid for the original, old-fashioned Clip+ today, even used ones. Sorry for asking, but what is making this old player so special? Anyway, I'm still happy with it and so glad that I don't have to rely on my phone in terms of listening to music. I prefer the good old mp3s on my Sansa instead of hassling with a low phone battery, desperately looking for Wi-Fi to have access to streaming services etcetera. The only thing that has suffered massively after all these years was the battery capacity and also the displayed battery percentage in the configuration menu which has gone a bit weird. You can even replace your old battery with a brand new one! Unfortunately, I don't have the necessary tools foor this (you need a soldering iron), and most likely not the manual finesse either. :)

I have about 4 of these little things, most of them the headphone socket is faulty. Anyone know if possible to fix?

Where is the hard drive? Is there an adapter I could buy to just stick that into my computer? (My old clip+ turns on but it is not recognized by the computer. I thought of taking out just the hard drive of the clip.)

This is the perfect audio player. Been going on over a decade now and replaced it a few times. There are a few differences hardware and shell-wise so you might want to be picky if you're searching on ebay. Most sellers of refurbs won't do the hardware test so you don't know what you'll get. I really, really wish they'd release a model just like this with Bluetooth. Album art and such would be nice but I'm content with audio purity thanks to Rockbox.

I have one that I left at a hotel. I spent $22 to have it sent back to me. I had several for work, and I always misplaced them, or so I thought. Today, I found a stash of the ones that I collected and lost over the years, under an undiscovered slot on my bookcase shelf, where they obviously dropped out of sight. Giving up, I just bought new ones, thinking I had lost them at work! I found 2 8GB and 2 4GB, plus the one I got back, an 8GB, which makes 5. Turns out that I never lost them at work, they dropped into the bookcase slot. I checked them all out and they all work. I'm in Sandisk Sansa+ heaven! And now I see that I can repair them myself. There are batteries on Ebay. I like these better than any other player because they play several formats, they record, and they don't have proprietary headaches associated with them. They should never have stopped making them. Thank you for the video!
